Bewegte Stille
Moving Stillness
My abstract painting explores movement within the image, balancing control and release, stillness and dynamism. I investigate the tension between calm and movement, density and openness.
Working intuitively and process-driven, I create colour spaces through broad, gestural brushstrokes, transparent layers, concentrated colour fields and drawn lines. Controlled marks meet spontaneous interventions; surfaces are built up, painted over, revealed or deliberately left open.
At the centre is the relationship between quiet pictorial spaces and energetic areas of concentration. Light, open areas create room to breathe, allowing movement to linger and remain visible.
I draw inspiration from changing light, natural forms of movement, memories of landscapes and physical perception. The works remain deliberately open-ended, inviting associations with landscape, the body, inner states and weather phenomena.
Rot
Red
An exploration of red through layers, shapes and expressive brushstrokes. Different shades of red, orange, pink and violet blend into one another, creating contrasts between transparency and depth, softness and structure. Hints of white bring light into the compositions, while darker tones add depth and balance.
Each painting approaches the colour from a different angle. Colours overlap, lines interrupt the flow, and shapes emerge and fade into the background. The result is a collection of abstract compositions that play with movement, texture and the relationships between colours.
RED is a study of colour and its many nuances — how it changes depending on what surrounds it, how it interacts with other tones, and how a single colour can create so many different impressions.
